Laser surgery
Laser surgery Lasers have been used in surgery on humans for over 30 years. Since 2005, Accès Vet’s patients have also been able to benefit from this technology, as our veterinarians perform laser surgery on a daily basis. In procedures such as declawing, given the great benefits to the animal, laser surgery is now the requirement.

Laser use is highly indicated in a large number of surgical procedures in dogs, cats, birds and other animal species: cysts, tumours, warts, dermatitis, and infections of the eye, ear, mouth or elsewhere on the body. Aside from external uses such as these, the laser can also be applied to procedures involving internal organs.

Surgery
Surgery We offer a wide range of surgery services, from routine services such as sterilization to more complex procedures such as enterectomy, cystotomy, excision of masses. Laser surgery is our preferred method of surgery (link to fact sheet).

For preventive reasons, prior to any surgery, all animals must undergo blood tests appropriate to their age and health, IV drips will be administered during anaesthesia and a suitable pain management protocol will be recommended.   Top

Skin examination

Specific tests such as skin scraping, hair/fur cultures, cytology and biopsies can be done at the clinic. If necessary, some samples will be sent to an outside lab for a pathologist’s opinion. In that case, it will take several days to get results.    Top
